A world record to honor a world champion.
On the occasion of the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Antwerp, Baloise, main sponsor of Nina Derwael, reaffirmed its support for the three-time Olympic champion. A tribute to the willpower, perseverance, and long years of tough learning required to reach perfection at the highest level of sport.
To mark the moment, a pointillist portrait of Nina was created, each dot formed by a small band-aid, symbolising the failures, injuries, and falls that athletes endure on the road to excellence.
The result: a striking 7-meter-high billboard, composed of 33,246 plasters and over 130 hours of painstaking work. A spectacular ode to resilience, displayed for three weeks in the heart of the host city.
The poster was revealed during a press conference and the making of was used on social media as part of the sponsorship campaign.
Plaster? Band-Aid? Yes, in UK english, a plaster is a band-aid. As the case film was for Eurobest and Creative Belgium, we used Plaster.
